A Night of Magic and Mystery at The Oracle Bar, Liverpool

I had the absolute pleasure of performing at The Oracle Bar in Liverpool alongside the brilliant David Alnwick. As guest magicians travelling from Derbyshire, we were stepping into one of the most atmospheric and exclusive magic venues in the UK, a true hidden gem.

What Is a Speakeasy?

For those unfamiliar with the term, a speakeasy is a secret or hidden bar, often designed to feel like a step back in time. Originating in the Prohibition era, speakeasies were underground venues where people could enjoy alcohol in secrecy. Today, they still embrace that clandestine charm, with unmarked doors, intimate atmospheres, and an air of exclusivity. The Oracle is a perfect example—getting in requires ringing a doorbell and hoping there’s space. It’s a night out shrouded in mystery from the moment you arrive.

A Night of Non-Stop Magic

From the moment we arrived, the place was buzzing. The Oracle was packed with people eager to experience the impossible, and David and I wasted no time getting to work. We spent the night moving from group to group, performing close-up magic and mind-reading that left jaws on the floor. The reactions were priceless—gasps, laughter, stunned silence exactly what you want in an intimate magic venue like this.

More Than Just Magic

What makes The Oracle even more special is that the magic isn’t just limited to the magicians. They also have a tarot reader, adding an extra layer of mystery to the night. Guests could have their futures read in between mind-blowing magic performances, making the entire experience feel like stepping into another realm.

And then there’s the drinks menu. The Oracle takes mixology to an entirely new level. These aren’t your standard cocktails you’ll find beautifully crafted, imaginative drinks that are as much a spectacle as the magic itself. Every sip feels like part of the show, making it the perfect place to lose yourself in an evening of wonder.

By the end of the night, David and I had performed for countless groups, leaving behind a trail of astonishment and wonder. The Oracle isn’t just a bar it’s an experience, one that combines world-class magic, a secretive atmosphere, and an unforgettable vibe.
